The Olathe Family YMCA has facilities and programs to meet a variety of interests. Cardio and strength-training equipment, two indoor pools, group exercise classes free to members, walking track and Child Watch while you work out are just a few of the things we offer for individuals and families.

Scott Clark - District Vice President
Scott has been with the YMCA of Greater Kansas City since 2010 and has more than 27 years of experience with YMCAs across the country. Most recently he was with the Old Colony YMCA in Southeastern Massachusetts for 14 years. As Southwest District Vice President for the YMCA of Greater Kansas City, he enjoys making a positive impact on the lives of children, adults and families every day by helping them build self-confidence and become stronger. Scott's community involvement includes serving on the Leadership Steering Committee for Healthy Communities Wyandotte, Pioneering Healthier Communities, Rotary Club and Sunflower Coffee Club. The Mayors of both Olathe and Kansas City, KS, have also appointed him to serve on several task forces. A native of Detroit, MI, Scott holds a degree in Commercial Recreation Managment from Michigan State University. In his spare time, he enjoys spending with his wife, children and friends. His hobbies include golfing, biking and outdoor activities.


Jessica Velazquez - Healthy Living Director
At the Y, Jessica enjoys the opportunity to cultivate a community of wellness with education, commitment and communication. "The programs the YMCA provides allow us to meet people where they are as a means to inspire action beyond their perceived limits and potential," Jessica said. After earning a degree in Communication and Business from Emporia State University, Jessica spent time working in Public Relations at a magazine and event planning company in Kansas City. At the same time, she went back to school to pursue her passion in wellness, earning a degree in Exercise Science from Kansas City, Kansas, Community College. She worked as a personal trainer in Houston, TX, for a few years before starting to work at the YMCA of Greater Kansas City. Jessica is a Certified Personal Trainer, American College of Sports Medicine Cancer Exercise Specialist, Cancer Institute Lifestyle Coach, YMCA's Diabetes Prevention Program Group Exercise Instructor, YMCA Instructor and LIVESTRONG at the YMCA Certified. Jessica, who grew up in Albuquique, NM, loves Kansas City, but enjoys traveling to warm places with mountains and oceans. On the weekends she volunteers at KC Pet Project, where she met her dog, Duke. To stay active she plays Ultimate Frisbee and works out at the Y three times a week.
