ACTIVITIES FOR EVERY AGE

Free Unlimited Group Exercise Classes
No need to buy passes! Members can take as many group exercise, family-friendly group exercise and water fitness classes as you wish! Unwind with a yoga class or take on popular new fitness classes like POUND, Barre, Piloxing, Tabatas, Les Mills BODYPUMP and many more. View our group exercise schedule.

Free Kids Zone
Kids ages 12 weeks to 8 years can play, make crafts and learn while you work out. Kids Zone is FREE with a family membership and gives you peace of mind your children are safe and having fun while you exercise or attend a class. Our expanded hours include Sunday afternoons, so Kids Zone opportunities are available daily. View Kids Zone and Tween Room hours.

Active Older Adult Classes and Events
Active Older Adults can enjoy a variety of group exercise classes designed especially to meet the needs of adults age 55 and older. Active Older Adults also enjoy group outings, health education seminars, volunteer opportunities and events designed to promote mental agility, good health and independence. At the Y, we know parents need a break from time to time. With Kids Night Out, parents enjoy a night out while kids engage in fun and safe activities at the Y. THE OLATHE FAMILY YMCA TEAM

Scott Clark - District Vice President

Scott has been with the YMCA of Greater Kansas City since 2010 and has more than 27 years of experience with YMCAs across the country. Most recently he was with the Old Colony YMCA in Southeastern Massachusetts for 14 years. As Southwest District Vice President for the YMCA of Greater Kansas City, he enjoys making a positive impact on the lives of children, adults and families every day by helping them build self-confidence and become stronger. Scott's community involvement includes serving on the Leadership Steering Committee for Healthy Communities Wyandotte, Pioneering Healthier Communities, Rotary Club and Sunflower Coffee Club. The Mayors of both Olathe and Kansas City, KS, have also appointed him to serve on several task forces. A native of Detroit, MI, Scott holds a degree in Commercial Recreation Managment from Michigan State University. In his spare time, he enjoys spending with his wife, children and friends. His hobbies include golfing, biking and outdoor activities.

 

Justin Greene - Sports Director

At the Y, Justin enjoys the opportunity to get youth active in sports and building strong relationships with others in the Y community. Justin grew up in Mansfield, OH and attended Emporia State University in Kansas, where he majored in Health, Physical Education and Recreation. Prior to his current role, Justin served as a Site Supervisor in our Y Club before and after school program. Outside of the Y, Justin enjoys playing basketball, spending time with his family, friends and church community.

 

Johanna Kluemper - Healthy Living Director

For Johanna, the greatest part of her job is helping people achieve their goals and giving back to the community. She holds several certifications, including NASM Certified Personal Trainer, NASM Women's Fitness Specialist (in the process of obtaining), Foundations of Group Exercise and TRX. Prior to joining the Y, she worked for an educational marketing firm, where she incorporated her passion for wellness whenever possible. Originally from Houston, Texas, she holds a degree in Entrepreneur Management from Texas Christian University. Cooking and developing healthy recipes, enjoying music and spending time with her family are among her interests. 

 

 

Mac Reyes - Aquatics Director

Mac has been the Aquatics Director at the Olathe Family YMCA since March 2015, but he has worked at the Y since 2008 in a variety of roles, including Youth Development Services site assistant, lifeguard, swim instructor, healthy living coach, member engagement team member and aquatics coordinator. His certifications include YMCA swim lesson instructor, Red Cross instructor and ASHI instructor. Originally from Leavenworth, Kansas, Mac has a business degree from MidAmerica Nazarene University. "I enjoy seeing children develop swim skills through our programs," he said. Outside of the Y, Mac enjoys running and watching movies.
