THE PROVIDENCE YMCA/BALL FAMILY CENTER TEAM

Bill Blunck - Executive Director
Being able to positively impact people and the community is what Bill enjoys most about being part of the Y. Bill first began work at the YMCA of Greater Kansas City in May 2003, and has held a variety of positions over the years including Associate Executive Director, Connections Director, Aquatics Director, Membership Information Director, Senior Membership Director, Center Executive and Associate Center Executive. Before working with the Y, he was a Program Director for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Phoenix and an Associate Director with Iowa State University Recreation Services. A native of Mount Ayr, IA, he holds a degree in exercise and sport science from Iowa State University. In his free time, he enjoys live music, playing the guitar, sports and croquet.

Sadie Birchard - Aquatics Director
Sadie has been the Aquatics Director at the Providence YMCA/Ball Family Center since summer 2014 but she's worked at the Providence Y since 2009 in a variety of roles including Lead Lifeguard, Swim Instructor, Swim Coach, Water Aerobics Instructor and a Lifeguard/CPR Instructor. "Aquatics safety is an important part of my life and I want to make sure that everyone has the opportunity to include that in their lives," Sadie said. Outside of Aquatics, she is part of the Y's Togetherhood community, which invites Y members to activate their social responsibility by participating in the Y’s cause to strengthen community through volunteer opportunities. In her free time, she enjoys being with friends and family and watching college sports--especially the University of Kansas Jayhawks.

Larry Boswell - Sports Director
Larry has been part of the Y movement since 2001 and joined the YMCA of Greater Kansas City in September 2009. His Y journey began as a lifeguard at the Joplin Family YMCA, then program staff at the YMCA of the Rockies. He then joined the Ozarks Regional YMCA as a Program Director, where he worked with outdoor aquatic parks, summer day camp programs and sports leagues at the Monett Area YMCA. Larry cites the great people he meets and works with and the satisfaction of making a difference in communities as his favorite aspects of his job. A native of West Plains, Missouri, Larry earned a degree in Criminal Justice Administration and Law Enforcement at Missouri Southern State University. In his free time, he enjoys time outdoors, including fishing and hunting, and spending time with his wife and children.

Adam Dunavant - Member Engagement Director
Adam has been the Member Engagement Director at the Providence YMCA/Ball Family Center since June 2014. He most enjoys the opportunity to impact so many lives through the Y. He brings experience gained in the for-profit world before he transitioned to his nonprofit career at the Y. He holds a Bachelor's of Science degree in Marketing from Missouri State University. In his free time, he enjoys sports including golf, baseball, football and basketball--especially Kansas City Royals baseball, University of Notre Dame football, and Missouri State Bears basketball.
