SUMMER DAY CAMP AT THE Y
At Y Day Camp, the possibilities are endless. Kids have the opportunity to explore nature, find new talents, try new activities, gain independence, and make lasting friendships and memories. And, of course, it’s fun too.
Information for 2015 summer camps will be available in early February. Camp registration opens on Saturday, February 28, 2015.
In the meantime, read a digital version of our 2014 Y summer day camp brochure below for an overview of our program.
In our Explorers Preschool Camp, children will participate in themed weeks with special guests, family events, hands-on learning and some splash time.
New experiences, skill-building, a sense of community and lasting friendships are all part of Traditional Summer Day Camp. Weekly themed activities allow campers to create arts and crafts, explore science and technology, swim, participate in field trips, appreciate nature, and better understand our many cultures.
Kids can explore their passions or discover a new passion through our Specialty Camps. Your child can pursue their special interests and learn new skills in a safe and fun environment with other campers. All specialty camp sessions will be full days this year.
Teen Camp (12-14 years old)
This summer’s soundtrack will have a playlist you'll never forget. Teen Camp is filled with fun and exciting day trips, so your teen won’t feel like they are in a day camp but like they are hanging out with friends in a supportive and challenging environment.
Summer of Service (12-18 years old)
Youth Volunteer Corps of Greater Kansas City, hosted by the Y, offers an eight-week program for youth ages 11-18. The intensive summer volunteer opportunity allows youth to serve their communities. Each service project lasts four days. Youth serve in teams at projects all over the community, and each project includes icebreakers, team-builders and service-learning lessons.
YMCA of Greater Kansas City will be providing an outdoor destination day camp experience for youth ages 6-12 years old that will include opportunities to explore the great outdoors while meeting new friends.
