2014 Weekly Camp Themes

The following themes are available for our Explorers Preschool Camp, Traditional Day Camp and Teen Camp.

Mission

Our mission this summer is to have fun while learning essential life skills that build positive and resilient self-images in a safe, supportive environment.

Leadership

Everyone has the ability to become a great leader. Campers will gain a newfound sense of self-confidence and empowerment through this week’s team building, problem solving and special challenges.

Energy

This week campers will energize their mind, body and soul as they take on sports and fitness, healthy cooking and nutrition challenges, and enjoy some camp-spirit fun.

Adventure

What’s growing up if not for a little adventure? This week is all about everything unusual and exciting. We will take on the great outdoors and have new experiences we will remember for years to come.

Imagination

“Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life’s coming attractions.”- Albert Einstein. Campers will explore the arts and discover outlets of self-expression in this creative week.

Curiosity

This week will open up new worlds and possibilities as campers' minds are encouraged to be active and observant by taking on a variety of experiments, games and fun activities.

Vision

Do you know what you want to be when you grow up? It’s never too early or too late to have dreams and aspirations. This futuristic week will have campers dreaming big and exploring limitless possibilities.

Traditions

There’s something magical and exciting about celebrating our favorite holiday traditions, which is why we will celebrate as many as possible in one week. So Happy Birthday, Happy Halloween, Happy Independence Day…we’re doing them all!

Responsibility

Changing the world has never been this much fun! Join us this week as our campers make an impact on their community and their planet.

Innovation

Campers this week will learn how to get out of the box to accomplish tasks, solve problems and build challenging projects. You never know when the next great invention will come--it might get its start this summer.

Friendship

We are going to celebrate the friendships that we have made over the summer and maybe even make a few more. Campers will re-live some of their favorite games, activities and memories this final week with the amazing people they met this summer.

EXPLORERS PRESCHOOL DAY CAMP

In our Explorers Preschool Camp, children will participate in themed weeks with special guests, family events, hands-on learning and some splash time. YMCA Preschool Camp provides a fun and interactive environment for children 3-5 years old. Campers will enhance their social skills, develop friendships and focus on kindergarten readiness through theme-based activities and bi-weekly field trips.
