Kids of all abilities have the opportunity to play sports with Y Challenger. Through baseball, basketball, bowling, flag football, soccer, tennis and fitness, ages 4-30 with special needs can stay active, learn teamwork and build confidence.
Athletes are assigned to teams by age and ability, and are coached by volunteers. A volunteer buddy is partnered with each athlete to offer assistance as needed throughout the game, allowing parents to relax and cheer from the sidelines.
Sports fundamentals are taught through drills at practices and during games. Fitness classes incorporate physical activity with lessons on nutrition and healthy living.
